In a significant stride toward digital transformation, The Mangalore Catholic Co-operative Bank Ltd. (MCC Bank) successfully conducted an AI Empowerment Workshop on 26th July, 2025, at its Training Centre in Mangalore. The workshop was organized in collaboration with Canara Communication Centre, Mangaluru, with the goal of equipping bank staff with practical knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration and Cybersecurity—both in professional banking operations and personal application.

The workshop began with insightful theoretical sessions that explored the evolution, scope, and relevance of AI in today’s rapidly changing digital landscape. This was followed by interactive hands-on sessions, where participants delved into real-time AI tools, cyber security awareness, customer service enhancement strategies, and workflow automation tailored for the banking sector.

The training was led by Rev. Fr Anil Ivan Fernandes, Director of Canara Communication Centre, and Mr Leo Victor Zalki, whose sessions captivated the audience with practical demonstrations and deep expertise contextualized for banking professionals.

A special feedback session was delivered by Mr Steevan D’Silva, Credit Officer from the Kankanady branch, who appreciated the workshop’s relevance and practical value. He also expressed gratitude to the management for organizing such a timely and forward-thinking initiative.

Adding a memorable touch to the event, the resource persons generously distributed giveaways, including a total of 370 USD awarded to five lucky staff members—symbolizing not only appreciation but also motivation to actively apply AI in their professional journeys.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr Deril J. Lasrado, Senior Manager, who also compered the programme. A total of 49 employees participated in the training programme, along with the presence of Professional Director Mr C.G. Pinto, Directors Mrs Irene Rebello, Mr Melwin Vas, and Advisors Mr S.H. Visweswaraih and Mr Maxim Castelino.
