A two-day workshop on "Operational Issues – Deposits & Services" was conducted for the clerical staff, officers, accountants and Branch Heads of MCC Bank Ltd. on 11th and 12th July 2026 in two batches at the Staff Training Centre, Administrative Office, Mangalore, under the theme "Improving Efficiency of Staff at the Branches."

In his inaugural address, Sahakara Ratna Shri Anil Lobo, Chairman, emphasized the importance of continuous learning and skill development in the banking sector. He stated that customers play a pivotal role in the growth and success of the Bank, and therefore every staff member must possess sound banking knowledge to provide prompt, accurate and hassle-free service. He observed that such training programmes enhance operational efficiency, improve customer service and reduce dependency in day-to-day branch operations.
The Chairman encouraged the participants to make the best use of the workshop by actively interacting with the resource persons and clarifying their doubts. He stressed that, in the present competitive banking environment, continuous upgradation of knowledge is essential. He also highlighted the importance of maintaining accurate customer data in the Core Banking Solution (CBS) through proper data cleansing.
He advised the participants to seek clarification on operational issues without hesitation and to strengthen their understanding of account opening procedures for various entities such as Associations, Partnership Firms, Companies, Trusts and other organisations. He further emphasized that staff members working at the counters should be capable of independently handling customer queries, complying with documentation requirements and effectively resolving operational issues encountered in the CBS.
Concluding his address, the Chairman wished the workshop every success and expressed confidence that the knowledge gained would contribute to improved efficiency and better customer service across all branches.

The workshop covered various operational aspects relating to Savings Bank Accounts, Current Accounts, Term Deposits, Remittances, GST, Cash Module and included practical sessions in the Core Banking Solution (CBS) focusing on day-to-day branch operations.
An interactive session was conducted on both days by Mr Sunil Menezes, General Manager, who shared practical insights and addressed various operational issues raised by the participants. Mr Raj F. Menezes, Deputy General Manager, was also present throughout the workshop and interacted with the participants. Mr Alwyn Dsouza, Senior Manager, IT Department compered.
